Maggie’s Coffee Shop
Located in Monk Bretton on Tennyson Road, Maggie’s Coffee Shop is a family-run cafe serving tasty food all day in a friendly setting. While they offer home-cooked daily specials, delicious coffee and cakes, Maggie’s has also become known for their breakfasts, with a menu featuring the classic Full English, healthy options and more.
Maggie’s is just a five-minute drive (or ten-minute walk) from Dearne Valley Country Park, making it the perfect place to get fueled up before exploring the area or meeting up with friends.

The View Cafe
For breakfast with spectacular countryside views, there’s no better spot than The View Cafe. Serving Full English breakfasts, sandwiches, eggs on toast and hot drinks from 10am, this licensed café offers cosy indoor seating for the cold months (with a log burner!) and a fantastic outdoor space for warmer weather.
The View Café is based at Mapplewell Meadows Farm, so whether you’re visiting for a few hours or camping overnight, it’s the perfect place to stop in for a hot meal or coffee.

Alice’s Cafe

Audrey’s Coffee House
Audrey’s Coffee House is truly one-of-a-kind. This Alice and Wonderland-themed cafe on Doncaster Rd offers delicious breakfasts, lunch and of course, afternoon tea. Open 7 days a week from 9am - 4pm, they serve traditional English Breakfasts, Eggs Royale, wraps, sandwiches and more all day.

Locke Park Cafe
A morning stroll through Locke Park isn’t complete without a bite to eat at their cafe! From breakfast buns and toasted tea cakes to sausage rolls and freshly made scones, Locke Park Cafe has something for everyone.

The Cottage Kitchen Elsecar
Based in the heart of Elsecar, you’ll find The Cottage Kitchen. They’ve been serving locally sourced, fresh food for over 15 years, including The Cottage Breakfast (a Full English available in two sizes), breakfast sandwiches, omelettes and toast.
Open from 8am - 2pm between Mondays and Saturdays, and 9am - 1pm on Sundays, they’re located just a short walk from Elsecar Heritage Centre. Check them out before heading over to explore the area’s history and local indie shops!

The Teepot Cafe Elsecar
Another breakfast spot within walking distance of to Elsecar Heritage Centre is The Teepot Cafe in Elsecar Park. They offer friendly service and a wide selection of affordable breakfast options (alongside other meals), with both indoor and outdoor seating.
They’re also a dog-friendly cafe, so you can bring your four-legged friend for a walk in the park.

Dodworth Deli & Cafe
Looking for a brunch spot in Barnsley West? Look no further than Dodworth Deli & Cafe. Located on High Street, this popular breakfast and lunch spot offers freshly prepared meals from Monday to Saturday; just a ten-minute walk from Dodworth station.

Holme Coffee House
Holmes Coffee House has been serving up breakfasts in Penistone (and Holmfirth too) since 2019. It’s worth stopping by for their coffee alone, which comes from locally roasted artisan coffee makers Bean Brothers.
