Barnsley's LGBTQ+ Guide
Barnsley's LGBTQ+ Guide
Discover Barnsley's LGBTQ+ spaces, who provide a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals to express themselves and connect with others in the community.
LGBTQ+ spaces provide a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals to express themselves and connect with others in the community. These spaces offer support, resources, and a sense of belonging, which can be invaluable for LGBTQ+ individuals who may face discrimination or marginalisation in other areas of their lives. By providing a space for LGBTQ+ individuals to come together, these organisations and venues help to build a stronger, more inclusive, and resilient community.
How have the LGBTQ+ spaces below been selected? The PROUD Network at Barnsley Council and Barnsley’s LGBTQ+ Forum undertook a survey in summer 2023 to discover the venue operators and event organisers that provide spaces and activities for the LGBTQ+ community in the borough. All the operators and organisers have agreed to be included in this guide. Should you have any suggestions for further listings, please email PROUDnetwork@barnsley.gov.uk and Barnsleylgbtqad@hotmail.com
