The European Championship, or the Euros, is one of the biggest events in the football calendar. This year, the tournament will take place from 14 June to 14 July with 24 teams competing for the trophy, including an England team featuring Barnsley’s very own, John Stones.

But where can you watch the Euros in Barnsley town centre?

Whether you are looking for a traditional pub, a trendy bar, or a family-friendly venue, Barnsley has plenty of options to suit your preferences and budget.

Here are some of the best places to watch the Euros in Barnsley this summer…

The Garrison

What’s better than watching the football on a 160-inch screen with a lively atmosphere? That’s exactly what you’ll get at The Garrison on Hanson Street.

This huge venue hosts live music gigs throughout the year, but you can be sure that it will be the crowd doing the singing during the Euros!

Decorated with the flags of all competing nations on its ceiling, this venue will help you to feel as if you’re at the tournament itself.

Soho Social

If you fancy watching the Euros a little differently this year, head to Soho Social on Shambles Street.

The recently renovated venue is offering 90 minutes of selected drinks and tapas throughout the game served directly to your table.

With four TVs and a big screen with surround sound, you’ll not miss a minute of the action here.

Pavilion Barnsley

Pavilion Barnsley in Gateway Plaza are showing all the England games this summer and they’ve got some fantastic deals to go with it.

Enjoy their smashed classic burger or any pizza with either a pint or a cocktail for £10.95.

The Kestrel, Market Street

This traditional pub is the perfect place to enjoy a nice cold drink with the match.

The Market Street venue also has plenty of deals on bottled lager and cider.

They are also dog-friendly, so you can always use a dog walk as an excuse to pop in for the match!

Butterfield’s Bar

An old favourite of Barnsley town centre, Butterfield’s Bar on Market Hill won’t let you down for the football with screens located around the whole venue.

They will be open for every match during the Euros and they are knocking £1 off every pint bought on draft (Monday-Thursday).
